Blurbs from the Bands...

Harpin' On

"Harpin' On are a unique blues harp led, swamp rock'n'roll band currently playing the live circuit in Dorset and receiving local radio play. They have just recorded an album of twelve songs called "One Way Trip" that's available to buy through their website www.harpin-on.com and at gigs.
The band, a four-piece, is a tight little outfit generating a big sound. Their original songs take influences from blues harp legends such as Little Walter and Slim Harpo, blended with the swamp feel of Tony Joe White, a smidgen of Sun era rock'n'roll and a juicy slice of 60s garage. Little Dave, lead vocals and harp, is an experienced dynamic front man, previously leading successful bands on the rock'n'roll circuit such as The Backbeats and The Hullabablues. His song writing skills craft tunes you feel you've always known, with impossibly catchy riffs and hypnotic melodies. With Jimmy's vintage guitar sounds, Gary's driving bass lines and drummer Dave's impeccable time keeping, live they are an energetic bunch, cooking up a party that always gets people on their feet and dancing."

3.30pm

Elles Bailey

"Elles Bailey who hails from Bristol has been playing keyboard, songwriting and recording for the last nine years. She has fronted well-known local Indie bands supporting Sugababes, Scouting for Girls and other similar acts however Elles decided to take the solo route in early 2012 to explore her love of blues and jazz. She started songwriting at the age of fourteen recording her first album with a band two years later. Her music has been featured on films, on compilation albums in the USA, radio in Europe and the UK. She has worked with top producers to record three albums and is currently working on her fourth produced and co written by Brian Banks who worked with Michael Jackson on his Thriller album. Her voice has just been used for a major advertising campaign in the USA for iShares and the song used will be released early 2013."

Calum Bird Blues Band

"Following their appearance at Stan's Blues Jamboree during the last Swanage Blues Festival, the Calum Bird Blues Band are back by popular demand! Fronted by young blues guitarist Calum Bird, the band has a new line up with Tom Sofikitis on drums, Roger Deacon-Smith on bass and Kev Stockley on rhythm guitar. The band will be playing tracks spanning the last 60 years, including covers of Matt Schofield, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy and Albert King, plus an original written by Calum."

Thunderboy & The Lightning Bolts

"Taking his love of the blues and mixing it up,
With soaring guitar, and a solid rhythm section.
Start the song and let's see where they go with it.
This is pure feel, nothing else.
How blues should be....................."
